Children's Worker Profile

Anne Face Painting on the FundayAnne Lee is the Children’s Worker for Bretton Baptist Church. She joined the staff team in January 2010 and still loves every minute!

Anne is married to Peter and they have three teenage children, all of whom are involved in church life.   Having grown up in a Christian family, Anne gave her life to God at a young age and has been involved in children’s ministry from her teenage years onwards. She teaches in Sunday School and, amongst other things, has led crèche, youth activities and holiday clubs.

A qualified teaching assistant and pre-school leader, Anne worked in the educational system for many years before becoming the Children’s Worker at Bretton.   Anne has recently gained a BA (Hons) in Mission and Ministry (with a focus on Children) from Cliff College.  This course has given her a deeper understanding of God’s heart for children and the importance of the church and the family in children’s faith development.

Anne really enjoys working with puppets and using art and other media to help children develop their own faith and relationship with God. She loves working with children of all ages and has a genuine desire to see every child come to a personal relationship with God.

Anne and the church believe that children are an important part of the church and our Children’s Ministry aims to provide an environment in which children can experience:
  • love and acceptance;
  • fun;
  • the presence of God;
  • good quality activities and teaching;
  • a safe environment to grow and learn in;
  • positive role models;
  • opportunities to worship;
  • an understanding of faith; and
  • an understanding of what being a Christian is.
 Anne is supported by an amazing, committed team of volunteers who enable the children’s ministry at Bretton Baptist to take place.
