A Brief History

Bretton Baptist Church (BBC) was established as a new congregation of Open Door ('Harris Street') Baptist Church in May 1982 and was formally established two years later as a church in its own right.  The church congregation originally met in a local school and then the local community centre before the church building was completed in 1987.

Our present membership is just over two hundred and a number of people who signed the founding charter are still part of the membership.   We are quite a diverse church, both in terms of age and nationality, and we welcome people from all Christian traditions.
