What happens on a Sunday?
All our services are held in the church building at Copeland, in South Bretton.
Morning Services are at 9.00am and 10.45am
Our morning services, which start at 9.00am and 10.45am are usually very similar. We have occasional all age services at the 10.45am service where we stay together as a church and these take a different format to the 9.00am service. Details can usually be found on the website or in the church bulletin.
Our 9.00am service starts with a time of worship and prayer, followed by a talk. A response to the talk, usually a short time of worship, concludes the service shortly after 10.00am. Tea and coffee are then served and everyone is welcome to stay for a chat whether they have been to the 9.00am service or are early for the 10.45am service!
At around 10.30am, people start arriving for the 10.45am service. This is our busiest service as we have activities for children and young people during this service. It starts at 10.45am with a time of worship and prayer. Children (0-11 years) and young people (11-16 years) stay with us at the beginning of the service and are then invited to leave for their groups. Some of our groups meet at the Copeland Community Centre which is across the road from the church and they are escorted by their group leaders. The duty steward or any of the Wayfinders group leaders will be able to tell you which group will be most appropriate for your child(ren).
Worship continues for a short time and is followed by a talk. A response to the talk, usually in the form of a short time of worship concludes the service at 12 noon. Children’s groups finish at this time as well. Children who have been taken to the Copeland Centre will be brought back to church by their group leaders. Tea and coffee are then served and everyone is welcome to stay for a chat after the service.
For more details of our activities for children and young people, please see our Wayfinders page [weblink] or The Grid’s page [weblink].
Prayer Ministry is available after every service from the Prayer Team. Just come to the front of the church and someone will be happy to pray with you.
